i have 150 pics in good shape. ft lewis, usns walker, etc. also news paper articles from the war and some military orders.

Admin reply: If you could scan them into jpg format and email me in jpg format at jack.l.morrison(at-change to @)cox.net, I will upload them to the website. That way I don't have to worry about original photos and documents getting damaged.

Thanks.

I was one of the fire direction chief computers on Dec.31 1968. I was with c btry 2/77th. We were setting on and around the hoe che min trail when at about 6:30 in the evening 1 to 2 thousand vc and nva regulars hit us with everything but the kitchen. The battle lasted until 6:30am the next morning Jan 1st 1968. If their is any interest I can recount most of the things that happened that night

The other sp5 fdc chief was Ron Short from Joplin Mo. Over the years I have not been able to get in touch with him. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

sp5James L. McAllister(MOBY) :o

Admin reply: James,

I checked our roster for 2/77th on our rosters page and nothing. Have you checked with Mike Pectol? Sometimes he has contact with more of the 2nd than I do.

Perhaps Ron Short will contact you. According to a data base I monitor for The Virtual Wall, only 1 death occurred on FSB Burt (Soui Cut) on Jan 1, 1968. SP4 Thomas Berry Corbin. You can visit his memorial page at http://www.virtualwall.org/dc/CorbinTB01a.htm

Thanks :!cry:

Re: - Jack M, and Steve Ybarra's Reply to Charles Price.
There is a story about Maxie and Information and photos provided by his Niece,
Barbara Atkinson at the web site for the VN 2/77.But one correction is necessary. At the time of his death he was assigned to A/2/77, but attached to A/2/12 Infantry, not 12th Cavalry The story and photos provided by his Niece are in the ALBUMS section of our site, under Sgt Maxie L. Price's contribution in the bush with an FO team.

Admin reply: My apologies. Maxie was attached to the 12th INFANTRY and not Cav. The report I referenced was for the 12th Inf and not CAV. Sorry about the typo. That is what happens when a regiment is split between divisions. The 12th Cav was with the 1st Cav Div and B/1/77th while 2/77 was in support of 12th Inf (among others), which was part of 25th Inf Division. Same problems in keeping 8th Cav and 8th Infantry separate during Vietnam. Jack

I was with A 4/77th ARA in RVN in 1970. I was later assigned to Ft Campbell when it was re-formed in 1972.
I am trying to find my friend Rex Cunningham. He was a SSG E-6 the last I knew. He was the best Cobra mechanic in the Btry. Red hair and freckles. I think he went to the 229th when the 4/77th was deactivated.
If anyone has had any contact, or has any knowledge of his location, please contact me at mbeard43@yahoo.com.
