...I am the Association secretary and I maintain the Association database.
I have 2,126 names for the 1st Battalion, 559 for the 2nd Battalion, Zero for 3rd Battalion,
55 for the 4th Battalion, 6 for the 5th Battalion, and 148 for the 6th Battalion. This website
serves for all battalion of the 77th Field Artillery Regiment. Please send me your
information so we can add you to the Regiment list. We would like active duty redlegs
to please join up with the Regiment Association so we can be a central point of contact
for finding old friends you would like to contact. If you apply for disability with VA you
may need to find buddies to verify your injuries or situations that may be responsible for
stress that could have caused PTSD. Think about it guys! It is great to have a one-stop-shop.
It would be nice to consider having a Regiment Reunion so we all could meet each other .......
the larger the group, the better prices and support you can get from hotels and attractions.
This would not obstruct each battalion from getting together at the reunion.
The elected officers of the Association can be from any of the battalions. Think about it!

...Only spent 4 months in 6/77. Then it was the first unit given to Vietnamese. I then went to the 2nd & 4th artillery, 9th infantry division for last 8 months.

My Dad Col. R.D. Schmidt was associated with the 77th in WW 2 and I have a copy of the history of the 77th dedicated to him , also a history of the 77th FA Group and ahistory of the 631st FA Battalion. I also have a copy of the poem " Convoy" signed by Cynthia Holt and a copy of " A ship Wrecked Soldier" signed by Major Edwin R. Nash. If there is a need for these documents I would be glad to share them for the enjoyment of any interested parties.
